Event Details

At this meeting, we’ll build an application, step-by-step, that implements the new Entity Framework Code-First release. Along the way, we’ll examine the moving parts of this framework, constructing an object model from plain “entity classes,” that enables querying, updating and inserting.

This application will consist of the database and data layer for an expense report application that we have named iReceipt.  We'll continue building on iReceipt at future meetings using connected systems technologies (WCF, WF4, Azure, etc).

Please install SQL Server 2008 (any version) before the meeting. Here is a link for SQL Server Express 2008, which is free (http://www.microsoft.com/express/Database/).  We'll also be using Visual Studio 2010 SP1.  Here is a link for Visual C# Express 2010, which is also free (http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/visual-csharp-express)

Bring your notebook, roll up your sleeves and get ready to code!
